=== 2026 capture of Nicolás Maduro and interim presidency of Delcy Rodríguez === On 3 January 2026, United States forces carried out a large-scale operation in Venezuela that resulted in the capture of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. More than 150 aircraft were involved in the attack, and Maduro was subsequently flown to New York to face long-standing U.S. indictments on drug trafficking and weapons charges. U.S. President Donald Trump declared that the United States would "run" Venezuela until what he termed a safe transition and warned that further strikes were possible if the new authorities did not cooperate. The operation's legality was widely questioned at the United Nations and by international-law experts. Shortly after the operation, the Supreme Tribunal of Justice ordered executive vice-president Delcy Rodríguez to assume the presidency on an interim basis. The armed forces publicly endorsed her as acting head of state. Initially Delcy Rodríguez condemned the U.S. action as an "illegal kidnapping", but within days she signalled a willingness to cooperate with Washington on Venezuela's future, in a shift reported by international media. The United States has stated that it does not recognize Rodríguez as a democratically elected leader and has called for a transition culminating in "free and fair elections". ==== Stepped-up inspection program ==== According to a senior quality inspectorate official, the government aimed to establish nearly 400 product testing centres within the next two years, and 80 of these would be food testing centres. Working groups were established in nearly every single province in order to set up new food testing centres and replace outdated equipment. On 24 September 2008, China's newly appointed AQSIQ chief Wang Yong said that the government would "carry out 'forceful' measures to deal with the chemical contamination", and stated that inspectors had removed 7,000 tonnes of melamine-contaminated dairy products from shops all over China. On 4 October, the Ministry of Agriculture announced it had drawn up an emergency rescue plan with the Ministry of Finance to give special subsidies to dairy farmers seriously affected by the lack of demand following the contamination scandal; local governments had already drafted policies to stabilise the dairy industry; 150,000 officials had been sent to overhaul the entire supply chains from cattle feed to milk collection; 18,803 milk-collecting stations had been registered and checked by these officials. The ministry was reported to have investigated 98 dairy producers and farms, banned 151 illegal companies and indicted three manufacturers for feed containing melamine. During an investigation into melamine contamination at Yili and Mengniu in Hohhot, police arrested six more people for allegedly selling and mixing melamine into raw milk.
=== Fungal === Fungal steroids include the ergosterols, which are involved in maintaining the integrity of the fungal cellular membrane. Various antifungal drugs, such as amphotericin B and azole antifungals, use this information to kill pathogenic fungi. Fungi can alter their ergosterol content (e.g. through loss of function mutations in the enzymes ERG3 or ERG6, inducing depletion of ergosterol, or mutations that decrease the ergosterol content) to develop resistance to drugs that target ergosterol. Ergosterol is analogous to the cholesterol found in the cellular membranes of animals (including humans), or the phytosterols found in the cellular membranes of plants. All mushrooms contain large quantities of ergosterol, in the range of tens to hundreds of milligrams per 100 grams of dry weight. Oxygen is necessary for the synthesis of ergosterol in fungi. Ergosterol is responsible for the vitamin D content found in mushrooms; ergosterol is chemically converted into provitamin D2 by exposure to ultraviolet light. Provitamin D2 spontaneously forms vitamin D2. However, not all fungi use ergosterol in their cellular membranes; for example, the pathogenic fungal species Pneumocystis jirovecii does not, which has important clinical implications (given the mechanism of action of many antifungal drugs). Subsequently, a part of the exogenous naked mRNA or complexed mRNA will go through cell-specific mechanisms. Once in the cytoplasm, the IVT mRNA is translated by the protein synthesis machinery. There are two identified RNA sensors, toll-like receptors (TLRs) and the RIG-I-like receptor family. TLRs are localized in the endosomal compartment of cells, such as DCs and macrophages. RIG-I-like family is as a pattern recognition receptor (PRR). However, the immune response mechanisms and process of mRNA vaccine recognition by cellular sensors and the mechanism of sensor activation are still unclear.
== Precautions == Molybdenum dusts and fumes, generated by mining or metalworking, can be toxic, especially if ingested (including dust trapped in the sinuses and later swallowed). Low levels of prolonged exposure can cause irritation to the eyes and skin. Direct inhalation or ingestion of molybdenum and its oxides should be avoided. OSHA regulations specify the maximum permissible molybdenum exposure in an 8-hour day as 5 mg/m3. Chronic exposure to 60 to 600 mg/m3 can cause symptoms including fatigue, headaches and joint pains. At levels of 5000 mg/m3, molybdenum is immediately dangerous to life and health.

=== Music === The third season includes several original songs, written by the series composer Christopher Lennertz, with two of them being "Rock My Kiss" and "You've Got a License to Drive (Me Crazy)". Both songs are featured respectively in the first ("Payback") and second episodes ("The Only Man in the Sky"), which were performed by Miles Gaston Villanueva. The music video for the latter was released on September 10, 2022. Lennertz delved further for the creation of these new songs by request of Kripke, creating a fictional in-universe musical boyband named Super-Sweet for which Villanueva's character Supersonic is the leader. Wanting to capture the essence of an authentic boyband during the decades of 1990s and 2000s, musical bands like NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men were researched by Lennertz, intending to understand the vibes that he needed for his tunes and develop a story for the group in the series in order to achieve and develop the fictional band's sound. Given all the profanity the series had, Lennertz needed to ensure that none of the songs had any swearing since "no boyband would ever do that", while also intending to trick the people to make them believe that they already heard and knew about those songs. Lennertz also wrote other two songs being "America's Son" and "Chimps Don't Cry". Both songs are featured in the second episode ("The Only Man in the Sky"), which were performed by Laurie Holden. The latter song got a music video for which it was released on June 17, 2022.
